What does DPS year mean to me right now?

• Embracing fear
• Self-awareness
• How can I learn more within the same placement?

“Design your future professional life to match your…personal needs”

–> For some people personal needs could mean being yourself, being creative, and doing what you love. However, it could also be to feed yourself and pay the bills! This quote made me deeply reflect on what I would prioritise when planning/brainstorming my future professional life. Finding the balance would be difficult but it will definitely be the key to pursuing a satisfying professional future that fulfills your need.

• Archive all the critical incidents/influences, and critically respond to them: Made me wonder if I’ve been “critically” reflecting –> what does “critical” mean
• Decolonisation
• Emotion, language, personal perspective

• Multiple frames of reference
• Why/How/What did you learn about yourself along the way

Autumn Formative Assessment

• I expressed my uncertainty regarding the Enterprise category in CAF – discussing this with Ansel, it became clear that what I have been doing during the design process of embroidery patterns and overseeing Depop is closely related to this category. It was about understanding the market –> which I was doing through being in contact with customer response, and feedback loop. This gave me confidence!
• Thinking about how my job role can diversify in the placement –> not just an “intern”: would there be any opportunity for me to take part in art direction?
• Finding photographer’s work and networking, building the framework through DPS: the term “networking” has given me anxiety as I know that it is something I need to work on, but is something I have been avoiding.
• Give conscious crediting for yourself –> leading to confidence
